version 0.4
After some time of not so hard work here's version 0.4 Now all the countries but Israel and the Palestinian authority can be accessed. One can see the effects on the relations and on the public opinion of the various foreign policy options, for example the effects of supporting the opposition. Still there's not much to play with but the project is going on steadily, so I'm satisfied. I'm still thinking about a better layout for the big displays of the various countries. The problem is to have all the options in a single window, and the options should be divided in logical areas. Now these requirements are met but it's not very eye candy.
Israel and the Palestinian authority will be done later, for they'll require different options. Version 0.4 is available on the usual yahoo mail account, the password has been removed from the blog but anyone can ask it to me.

the opposition
The oppositions modifiers are done. Basically the player can support two kinds of movements: democratic and islamist. When the player decides to start a coup the stronger movement will start the revolt, and the weaker one will join the government. The reason is that the two types of opposition are likely to fight each other for they are too different to ally in a real situation. The government would probably choose an agreement with the weaker opposition because it knows that the weaker opposition knows it would be exterminated by the stronger revolutionary party if it toppled the government. Thus the player can support both opposition because this would make the government weaker but then it would be more difficult for the coup to succeed.
Another news is that I eventually decided to work on all coutries' modifiers. So far I've been working on Libya's modifiers, so that I could easily copy and paste the code for the other countries. The code for Libya is becoming more complicated, so if I don't extend the work to all countries I risk to lose the sight of important things and to forget how I did something etc.

a few news
I've added the modifiers for stability and for the two different kinds of opposition. I don't remember if I ever talked about this but it is possible to choose to support the democratic or the islamist opposition. The democratic opposition is weaker but it will bring a higher final score, the islamist is stronger but once a country has an islamist regime it will spread this form of government in the whole area. No more news, I've been doing part three of CCNA plus the intro exam. This week I'll work more on the game, and a new release is to be posted soon.
